I was listening to Success Magazine CD with Darren Hardy interviewing Kevin Hall, author of Aspire and discovering your purpose, who has a unique definition of PASSION that I agree is more accurate. I’m paraphrasing Kevin here: he explains that PASSION is the willingness to suffer for what you believe in.

We hear the word “passion” and we think desire, lust, obsession, when the root word of passion is “pathos” meaning suffering or “feels with”.

How true this is. People with passion do whatever it takes to make it work. Entrepreneurs with passion are willing to suffer through the roadblocks, obstacles, deterrents because to them these are challenges to be overcome. Passion is the energy that fuels your belief in yourself and in what you are doing. Passion is the drive that keeps you going in those moments when you wonder why you are doing what you’re doing. Passion and Belief go hand-in-hand. Belief is the foundation of self-confidence, that unshakeable knowingness, that keeps you on track.

Passion alone does not guarantee success. You can work long, hard hours for years and see little or no results, but passion does give you the energy to experiment until you find the right combination for success in your niche.

Vigilando, agendo, bene consulendo, prospera omnia cedunt.
By watching, by doing, by consulting well, these things yield all things prosperous.

I was listening to billionaire Art Williams 1987 “Do It” speech on YouTube. My mother was checking her e-mail and wondered what I was listening to. We started laughing near the end of Art’s speech because he keeps repeating “Do It” over and over and over and over and over. Winners do it. Just do it. Now I know where Nike got their now famous “Just Do It” advertising campaign that they launched in 1988.

I gave credit to my mom for being a shining example of the “Do It” philosophy. My parents epitomized “Just Do It” in every facet of their life, from the little things to the big things. They did things even if they didn’t feel like doing it. They did things even when it was inconvenient. They did it because there was no point talking about it, or complaining about it, or wishing it away. And the sooner you did it, the faster you could go on with other things.

That’s why you make your bed right after you get up. That’s why you brush your teeth every day. That’s why you wash the dishes right after you eat. Or, put the dishes into the dishwasher and start the cycle. That’s why you do what you do. Otherwise, you end up with nothing. Or worse, a big pile of stuff (chores, paperwork, rotten teeth, body fat).

There is nobody holding you back except you. Not lack of opportunity. Not lack of education. Not lack of resources. That’s why the smartest people in the world are not the richest. Otherwise all the Ph.D’s in the world would be millionaires, right? Being smart does not equal being wealthy. Being smart means you know more but it doesn’t mean you Do It.

And Art Williams doesn’t mean his “Do It” to mean study and learn. I think he meant “Do It” and Learn. You learn through the doing. So … Do It.

As a Sanoviv Health Ambassador, just mention my name (July Ono) when you register for a program and receive a free spa treatment.

I must share that the $140 Seaweed Body Wrap is absolutely divine. Here’s a description of my experience:

Sanoviv Seaweed Body Wrap (80 minutes)

Slip away into the divine with the ultimate in luscious pampering. This is no ordinary seaweed wrap; it’s an experience.

You will be greeted in the lobby by your Technician and guided to the spa. After you have changed into the disposable undergarments, your first stop is the Exfoliation Scrub: a delectable mixture of chocolate and rice to slough off dead surface skin cells. The cacao mixture is rich with anti-oxidant minerals.

This treatment is followed with 10 minutes in the vertical-entry Hydrotherapy Swirl Tub. Relax in warmth as the swirling jets are infused with mango sea salts and rosemary oil. You will be given a sloughing brush to scrub off the Exfoliant Scrub. Your skin will have a beautiful after glow that lasts for days.

This treatment is followed with a warm water rinse down and a Plunge to close the pores. You will then be guided to the Infrared Sauna where you will spend another soothing 10 minutes. The buzzer will alert the Technician when the time is up. The infrared sauna detoxifies the body by eliminating toxins from deep tissue.

This treatment is followed with another warm water rinse down and a Plunge. You must immerse yourself completely underwater. Jump in and jump out. The cold water closes the pores so that bacteria cannot re-enter through the open pores. No more plunges after this.

This treatment is then followed by the application of warm Seaweed Body Wrap slathered generously over your body, and if desired, your face and hair. The Seaweed Body Wrap is full of minerals and nutrients to nourish your skin and hair. Your body is then wrapped in thermal insulating layers and another glorious 10 minutes of sheer indulgence as your skin absorbs the nourishment through open pores.

This treatment is then followed by a 5-nozzle warm water Vichy Rinse with Sensé Shampoo.

And your 80 minutes of heavenly bliss has come to an end. Follow up with a reluctant shower for your final rinse and you’re done. Truly a 5-star pampering session.

Coconut water is from “young coconuts”. It is a natural isotonic beverage with the same level of electrolytic balance as we have in our blood. Consider it “nature’s Gatorade”. It’s the fluid of life, so to speak. In fact during the Pacific War of 1941-1945, both sides in the conflict regularly used coconut water (siphoned directly from the nut) to give emergency plasma transfusions to wounded soldiers.

Most coconut water is still consumed fresh in tropical coastal areas. Once exposed to air, the liquid rapidly loses most of its organoleptic (sensory properties) and nutritional characteristics and begins to ferment.

Coconut water is more nutritious than whole milk (less fat and no cholesterol).

Coconut water is better than processed baby milk. It contains lauric acid which is present in human mother’s milk.

Coconut water is naturally sterile. Water permeates through the filtering husk.

Coconut water is a universal donor. It is identical to human blood plasma.

Coconut water is a natural isotonic beverage with the same level we have in our blood.

Coconut water has saved lives in third world countries through Coconut IV.

Coconut water is the very stuff of nature, biologically pure, full of natural sugars, salts, vitamins and minerals to ward off fatigue. Coconut water contains more potassium (about 294 mg) than most sport drinks (117 mg) and most energy drinks. It is alkalizing to the body.

Coconuts are the fruit of the coconut palm. In Sanskrit, the coconut palm is known as kalpa vriksha which means “tree which gives all that is necessary for living”, since nearly all parts of the tree can be used in some manner. The coconut itself has many food uses including milk, meat, sugar and oil as well as functioning as its own dish and cup. The husk was also burned for fuel by natives. Today, the seed fiber called coir is used to make brushes, meats, fishnets and rope.

Coconut oil is anti-viral and anti-fungal. Coconut milk is made by blending the water and coconut meat together. The Medium Chain Fatty Acids in Coconut Oil have been found to be effective in killing lipid-coated viruses such as Hepatitis C, HIV, Herpes, Stomatitis and cytomegalovirus, and also kills lipid-coated bacteria as well as some fungi and parasites including Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Staphylococcus aureus, Helicobacter pylori, Candida albicans and giardia.

Wheatgrass is a variety of grass that is used for its therapeutic and nutritional properties such as blood purification, liver detoxification and colon cleansing. Wheatgrass is one of the highest chlorophyll foods in the world (70% chlorophyll). Chlorophyll is often referred to as the “blood of plant life” as it closely resembles the molecules of human red blood cells. The difference between hemoglobin and chlorophyll is that the central atom in hemoglobin contains iron whereas the central atom in chlorophyll contains magnesium. It is the iron in wheatgrass juice that helps the blood carry healing oxygen to all the cells.

Wheatgrass is known as a superfood that also provides relatively high amounts of protein (amino acids), vitamins rich in Vitamins A, C and D, minerals, lecithin, and more than 80 living enzymes. Here are some of the key benefits of wheatgrass:

Wheatgrass is 70% chlorophyll which is the first product of light and therefore contains more light energy than any other element

It rebuilds the bloodstream and improes the integrity of red blood cells

Chlorophyll neutralizes toxins in the body

It improves blood sugar problems and is great for blood disorders of all kinds

Wheatgrass juice may cure acne after being ingested for 8 months

It acts as a detergent in the body and is used as a body deodorant

Wheatgrass improves digestion, high blood pressure and can remove heavy metals from the body

Wheatgrass implants (enemas) can heal and detoxify the colon walls

It is great for constipation as it is high in magnesium

Always drink wheatgrass on an empty stomach. Then wait 30 to 45 minutes before drinking or eating anything else. Begin with 1 to 2 ounces of fresh squeezed wheatgrass juice daily. It is best to use a twin gear juice extractor. The secret to drinking wheatgrass juice happily (without nausea or headache) is to gradually increase the amount as you become acclimated to it. Raise your dosage level up to 1 ounce. Then gradually raise your dosage one ounce every few days or weeks.
